Project overview

( About )
While at TATA AutoComp, I was embedded as a dedicated design resource for PepsiCo for two years. My role was to provide end-to-end design support through our company’s design capabilities. What began as industrial design support gradually expanded into projects across multiple design disciplines.

I contributed to over 25 projects, ranging from 3-week sprints to 6-month engagements, collaborating on various PepsiCo brands across different regions. Below is a glimpse of selected work that I’m able to share without breaching NDA.
( My Role )
Industrial Design, UX/HMI Design, Visual Design, Motion Design & Video making, 3D Visualisation and Animation, Retail Design
( Tools )
Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Aftereffects, Blender and Keyshot
( Timeline )
May 2019 to Dec 2021

Look at Me (LAM) kit

( About )
The "Look at Me" (LAM) concept was developed to enhance the appeal of VISI coolers and encourage more purchases. Each idea focused on low-cost retrofitting solutions to make the cooler visually engaging and attention-grabbing for customers.
( My Role )
As a concept designer, I contributed 15 ideas with visual representations and supported the prototyping phase. To effectively communicate the concepts, I developed basic animation skills and created working visualizations to showcase each idea to the client.

( Chest cooler )

After the success of the VISI cooler LAM concepts, PepsiCo expanded the initiative to other cooler formats, including chest coolers. For this phase, the marketing team requested the inclusion of brand ambassador visuals in the concept. As part of the solution, we designed a 3D illuminated element shaped like a Mountain Dew bottle, integrated with the poster. The light featured subtle motion to create a dynamic, eye-catching display.

Slush

( About )
Pepsi Slush is an advanced cooler designed to serve beverages in a refreshing slush form.
( My Role )
I was responsible for designing the cooler graphics for various PepsiCo brands, including Pepsi and Mountain Dew. Additionally, I created merchandising displays tailored to regional usage and placement, ensuring brand consistency and visual impact across different markets.

Grab & Go

( About )
"Grab & Go" is a smart, self-service cooler that allows customers to purchase beverages by simply tapping their card on the built-in display. It eliminates the need for a store attendant or traditional vending machine, offering a more cost-effective and seamless experience. Customers just tap, grab their drink, and go.
( My Role )
I designed the interaction flow for the payment experience, created the visual design for the display interface, developed the side graphics of the cooler, produced 3D visualizations, and wrote the script for its 3D animation.

3D E-sticker

( About )
Using 3D lenticular sticker technology, users can see different images from various angles. PepsiCo leveraged this to bring back the nostalgic 7UP character, Fido Dido, on the cooler canopy—showing a sequence of him drinking 7UP as the viewer shifts perspective.
( My Role )
I designed the brand graphics for 7UP and created a simple 3D animation to visualize how the lenticular effect would work, helping stakeholders easily understand the concept.

Takeaway

( Learning )

- Learned to apply UX principles beyond screens — into physical spaces, motion, light, and environmental cues

- Strengthened ability to translate customer behaviors into functional cooler interactions and merchandising displays

- Developed skills in tangible UX, blending industrial aesthetics with usability, ergonomics, and engagement

- Gained deep understanding of how context, culture, and retail environments influence design decisions

- Practiced prototyping and iterative feedback loops to refine user journeys — both digital and physical
